Welcome to Travel Clinic Jacksonville

Travel Medicine DoctorWhat is Travel Medicine?

Travel Medicine is a service that provides a detailed medical guide for your individual travel needs. Your itinerary will be reviewed and our travel nurse specialist will advise you about hygiene tips, disease prevention, and indicated immunizations. You will have an opportunity to ask specific questions about healthy travel during your appointment. Immunizations and prescriptions are available. Our medical directors are infectious disease specialists, and appointments for complex consultations may be made when necessary.

Who Should Visit a Our Travel Medicine Clinic?

Our service is important for both business and pleasure travelers to locations within and outside the United States. Whether it’s the jungles of Central America or the mountains of New Mexico, we can assist you in planning a healthy trip.

Why Should I be Evaluated?

Ideally you should arrange your visit with us six to eight weeks in advance of your travel. If this is not possible, in most instances we will still be able to provide useful information and immunizations.

Appointments?

As soon as you have confirmed your travel itinerary, you should schedule your appointment. Please bring the following information for the travel nurse to evaluate:

  • Detailed travel itinerary

  • List of current medications

  • Records of all previous immunizations

CDC Recommends

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/travel-during-covid19.html

Delay travel until you are fully vaccinated. If you are not fully vaccinated and must travel, follow CDC’s recommendations for unvaccinated people.

People who are fully vaccinated with an FDA-authorized vaccine or a vaccine authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization can travel safely within the United States.

CDC will update these recommendations as more people are vaccinated, as rates of COVID-19 change, and as additional scientific evidence becomes available. This guidance applies to travel within the United States and U.S. territories.
